Production on the second season of Buckwild has been shut down, following star Shain Gandee’s death.
In a statement, MTV said, "We are waiting for more information, but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly." It wasn't immediately known when or if production would start up again.
Shain's body was found Monday inside his truck, along with his uncle and a third unidentified person. Shain was reported missing over the weekend, after telling friends he and his uncle David Gandee were going four-wheeling.
TMZ says there's evidence that Shain died from carbon monoxide poisoning. According to a rep for the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office in West Virginia, the 21-year-old's 1984 Bronco was stuck knee-deep in mud. Police wouldn't confirm or deny whether carbon monoxide poisoning played a role in the deaths -- but sources connected with the investigation say it's the likely scenario, especially if the exhaust pipe was submerged in mud.
Here are some April Fools' pranks celebrities pulled Monday.
Justin Bieber tweeted this to his 37 million followers: "As promised taking all fan phone calls TODAY at (888) 847-9869. Talk to u soon!" That number is TMZ's tip line and their phone hasn't stopped ringing since.
Mike Tyson tweeted: "At the doctor's office this morning. Getting this tattoo removed from my face. This is going to be painful." But two hours later, the boxing legend had to admit to his joke. "OK. April Fools. There is no #GoodbyeMikeTysonTattoo. This tattoo is with me forever."
Snooki tweeted a photo of herself wearing a lace gown and diamond-encrusted tiara, with the caption: "Jionni and I eloped! Here's a pic of the magical day!"
Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham, who was arrested for a DUI in March, joked that she's adopting -- at least we hope she was joking. "Big day for Sophia & I," she tweeted. "Were adopting a baby brother, Sophie is super excited xo! Adopting is a #blessing."
Even the White House got in on the fun, tweeting, "This morning, the White House released a special video message from the President," along with a link to a YouTube video. But it wasn't President Obama in the video. It was "kid president" Robbie Novak, who appeared on-screen. "It looks like you were expecting someone else," the little politician said.
Donald Trump isn't monkeying around with Bill Maher anymore -- he's dropped the $5 million lawsuit he filed against the comedian for calling his father an orangutan.
Donald filed the suit in February, claiming that Bill had reneged on a promise to donate $5 million to charity if Trump could prove he wasn't spawned by an ape. Maher made the offer during an appearance on The Tonight Show. In his suit, Trump said he responded to the challenge with a copy of his birth certificate, proving he's the "son of Fred Trump" -- a human.
But Michael Cohen, a rep for the Apprentice host, says this doesn't mean the issue is dead. "The lawsuit was temporarily withdrawn to be amended and refiled at a later date."
It's not exactly "lockdown rehab," but Lindsay Lohan has lined up an appearance on CBS's Late Night With David Letterman.
Linds will sit down with Dave on April 9th. It'll be her first visit to the Ed Sullivan Theater in six years. She'll be plugging her guest spot on Charlie Sheen's sitcom Anger Management, which airs two days later.
