Waiting until the last minute again huh?  Yeah...us too.  Here are some quick last minute tax tips to hopefully lessen the stress.

From Turbotax:

1.  Go online!  You can file fast and don't have to wait in long post office lines.  Plus, you can find all the software you need there too.  Think E-file with direct deposit. You could have your money back in less than two weeks.

2.  Don't work so fast that you forget to get your deductions.  It's your money... make sure you get it back.  Loko for charity receipts, education credits, job search expenses.  A few minutes now can mean some major money back to you.

3.  While we all double check our numbers... because we don't want to fudge anything on our returns... (right?) make triple sure you have all social security numbers correct.  This could cause MAJOR PROBLEMS.

4.  Still can't get it done?  Don't panic. Filing a six month extension is easy.  Just don't put everything off if you do get that extension.  Finish your taxes and get it off your to do list.

My daughter is all about Mommy these days...

Dad is cool and all... but MOMMY is better.  And while this is sweet, and I love all of the extra attention...it is clearly hurting my husband's feelings.

Any advice?

"The Mommy Wars..."

Wow... that's one way to make sure we start off on the wrong foot.  SO... which is the better parent.  THAT we will never know/ agree on...but here are some interesting tidbits from this More magazine study (500 parents with household incomes above $75,000) about what one group is saying about the other.

Stay at Home Moms (SAHMs) believe that most working Mom's decide to work in order to engage in intellectual stimulation and preserve an exsisting career (prior to having children).  Actually, nearly half of these Working Moms (WMs) work mainly for the income, with 91% of those families relying on the additional salary.

Both sides are stressed out by the other. 

54% of WMs feel guilt about missing many family / school activities.

47% of SAHMs feel looked down upon by women who go to work.

Isn't ironic... we are all just actually in some part jealous of what the other has the ability to do?

So... what to do the guys think?  You're going to love this.

The guys thought that SAHMs were better parents, happier, and had better behaved children. But... those same guys think that WMs have earned more respect and have the ability to take on more responsibility/ stress than SAHMs.

See... this goes back and forth for all involved.  But here is my two cents... just speaking for me.  There are some days I wish I was a SAHM and some days I'm glad to be a WM.  I love what I do... but clearly not as much as I love my daughter. I'm lucky. I have family to help me each day...and I thank my blessings EVERY DAY.

But what I found from this article is that as long as society keeps putting the SAHMs up against the WMs... we will never be our best. 

So, let's try this Mommys... let's work together, respect each other, and form a united Mommy front.  That should really freak some people out.

I can't afford to go all crazy and buy new clothes, shoes, etc each season.  So what I try to do is... focus in on the MUST HAVES and then make do with what I already have.  And I'm thrilled with the SPRING MUST HAVE SHOE... The Neutral wedge!

You can go crazy with colors in your clothes... but a neutral wedge matches everything! 

I'll be splurging on a new pair or two this season for sure!
